COPA Soccer Training Center (COPA STC) is a 110,000 sq ft state-of-the-art soccer training facility located at Shadelands SportsMall in Walnut Creek, California. We utilize advanced training and assessment technology—some developed in-house and some exclusively licensed for North America—to employ leading sports science techniques and methodologies. Our quantitative, assessment-based approach develops the technical, physical, and cognitive skills of athletes of all ages and skill levels. About the Role
The Coaches for COPA Kids are dedicated to nurturing our youngest members (aged six and under) at COPA STC. Using our cutting-edge technologies and premier training facilities, you will guide small groups of young athletes through dynamic, enjoyable programs designed for early development. Ideal instructors bring an energetic, positive attitude and a welcoming demeanor to create a fun, engaging environment.
Candidates must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends. COPA requires a minimum commitment of 3 training days per week (2 weekdays and 1 weekend day) on a consistent weekly schedule. Coaching hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Saturday & Sunday from 8:00 AM onwards.
Responsibilities
- Teach and coach sport fundamentals, movement skills, balance, coordination, and cognitive development, tailoring lessons to diverse needs and skill levels.
- Welcome children and parents with enthusiasm, fostering a positive environment and collaborating with team members to enhance the overall experience.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment by consistently implementing safety protocols and best practices.
Requirements
- Physical effort and exertion, including sports-related movements, equipment maintenance, lifting up to 45 pounds, and prolonged walking/standing.
- Ability to learn and operate our technology, software, and hardware integral to our facility and curriculum.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Solution-oriented approach, especially in customer-related situations.
- Successful completion of a background check as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching, coaching, or caring for young children, including curriculum development and engagement strategies.
- Proven success in a customer service environment with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Current CPR/AED certification or commitment to obtain it prior to employment.
