We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our company, with opportunities to work in sectors such as hospitality, luxury 5-star hotel development, offices, restoration, F&B, and construction. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your established quantity surveying skills, including appointing subcontractors, procuring materials, financial reporting, valuation submissions, and final account negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage subcontract packages, appointments, and material procurement.
  • Direct and proficient negotiation of client contract sums.
  • Oversee measures and report variances to the board and client team.
  • Prepare valuations for interim applications and assessments.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for the client and their consultants.
  • Produce Bills of Quantities for construction and fit-out schemes in the UK and ROI.
  • Monitor costs to ensure budgets are met and attend regular finance meetings internally and externally.
  • Liaise closely with Site Managers and Project Managers to record all variations, change requests, and instructions.
  • Monitor sub-contractor accounts, negotiations, and referrals.
  • Prepare and submit weekly financial reports to the client and client QS.
  • Perform monthly cost/value reconciliations to the board.
  • Monitor cash collection.
  • Finalize project accounts with detailed analysis and insight into project performance.
  • Manage several projects at different stages simultaneously.
  • Provide commercial support to the Estimating and manufacturing teams.
  • Promote best practices in Health, Safety, and Environmental matters.
  • Monitor compliance of projects and follow company procedures while delivering best practices.
  • Assist in implementing the business plan, developing business opportunities in line with the business strategy, and identifying market opportunities.
  • Provide regular and accurate reporting to the Commercial Director, Finance Director, and Managing Director.

Requirements

  • Well-established commitment to your career and proven ability in project delivery.
  • Proven track record of working on numerous projects across a range of sectors, including major projects with clear levels of responsibility.
  • Thorough understanding of construction forms of contract, techniques, and construction costs, with the ability to advise clients knowledgeably.
  • Clear understanding of contractual obligations, breaches, and remedies.
  • Competent knowledge of a range of procurement options available in the industry.
  • High standard of awareness of current legal and regulatory developments in construction and associated law.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements applicable to the business and wider construction industry.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, Causeway, Redsky, and other role-related software packages.
  • High standard of proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Strong client management skills, including managing expectations and cost reporting.
  • Ability to generate repeat business, develop new business opportunities, and represent the company during bid interviews.
  • Sound understanding of financial management procedures.
  • Proactive in generating new ideas and adapting to change.
  • Effective people management skills.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively on complex projects.
