About the Role

The Wealth Planner (Planner) delivers financial planning experience to Key Private Bank (KPB) high net worth clients and prospects. The Planner works closely with KPB Relationship Managers to acquire and deepen relationships by increasing planning engagement with existing clients and supporting prospect and Centers of Influence (COI) engagements. The role involves supporting Essential Planning opportunities and leading Advanced Planning conversations, including risk management, estate and wealth transfer planning, as well as specialty planning (e.g., portfolio management, executive compensation, and business succession planning). The Planner also contributes to internal and client-facing content development and collaborates with Market Leaders, Regional Directors, Fiduciary, and Portfolio Strategists to prepare, deliver, and implement advice.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in Core Private Bank prospect, client, and centers of influence (COI) meetings as a financial planning expert.
  • Lead prospect, client, and COI planning engagements, advising on Advanced Planning priorities.
  • Collaborate with KPB Relationship Managers to proactively reach out to clients to advise on age milestones, life events, and children/wealth planning opportunities.
  • Partner with Fiduciary, Insurance, and Investment teammates to deliver the Key Planning experience to prospects, clients, and COIs.
  • Provide in-market financial planning support and coaching to KPB Relationship Managers to advance their planning acumen.
  • Work with Market Leaders and partners to develop KPB Relationship Manager skills focused on Essential Planning priorities.
  • Support internal and external planning content development projects.
  • Contribute thought leadership on planning to Key Wealth Institute.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience (required).
  • 5 years in a financial planning capacity providing financial planning advice to affluent clients (required).
  • 3 years providing financial planning advice to high net worth clients (preferred).
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification (required).

  • Ability to coach advisors on the planning process—both technical and consultative.
  • Experience in modeling estate, wealth transfer, multi-generational, and liquidity event scenarios.
  • Proficiency with planning tools (software); MoneyGuide and Wealth Studios preferred.
  • Proven track record of working with high and ultra-high net worth families.
  • Strong team player, responsive partner, and effective collaborator.
  • Experience working with CRM tools.

Physical Demands

  • General office environment: prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face-to-face or via phone, frequent use of PC/laptop.

  • Ability to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license.

Pay

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes eligibility for incentive compensation, which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
