About the role

The Key Carrier directs front-end staff and operations in the absence of the Assistant Center Store Manager, ensuring optimal customer service, performance, productivity, and compliance. This role supervises and trains front-end associates, maintains store standards, and performs store balancing functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding associates accountable for excellent customer service.
• Manage front-end performance and productivity, including over/short tills, check collection, cash handling, WIC/EBT compliance, bottom-of-basket checks, and front-end efficiency metrics.
• Lead Clerks and Clerk Helpers with a focus on accountability and high business performance.
• Ensure front-end and parking lot conditions meet standards (check stand merchandising, cleanliness, shopping carts, bags, etc.).
• Perform store balancing (bookkeeping) functions to enhance the shopping experience.
• Handle front-end management tasks, including refunds/returns, loans/pick-ups, and check authorization.
• Monitor and improve customer experience at the front end.
• Occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
• Strong supervision and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in counting, math, and accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of front-end operations, check stand procedures, and compliance rules.

Qualifications

• Education: One year of college or vocational school (or equivalent knowledge through formal education, training, or job experience).
• Experience: One year of prior work experience, including at least 6 months in grocery/retail.
• Availability to work varied retail hours.

Pay

$15.50 - $23.50 per hour.
