About the role
The Key Account Manager (KAM) - West will lead continuous sales and profit growth across all Regional Retail and Wholesale Convenience accounts throughout the Western United States. Champion a passionate, laser-focused commitment to the customer, driving sustainable revenue expansion and enhanced profitability. Success is delivered through deep customer and consumer insights, strong and collaborative retailer, wholesaler, and broker relationships, and a disciplined approach to customer-centric joint business planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage convenience retailers and wholesalers and establish PIM as a first-choice partner for fruit snacks, as well as a leading player for confectionery brands.
- Identify new distribution growth opportunities with convenience retailers and build partnerships that are mutually profitable to drive volume through distribution.
- Partner with convenience retailers to develop annual programs, promotions, and planograms that will advance PIM Brands and the Confections and Snacks categories.
- Build and enhance meaningful relationships (at HQ levels) with regional C-Store retailers and wholesalers that support PIM growth at all levels of the organization.
- Motivate assigned brokers to execute PIM initiatives delivering annual goals.
- Create annual stretch sales objectives within areas of responsibility by partnering with brokers to develop sales plans for each broker supporting PIM objectives and achieve them through dynamic customer action plans.
- Implement customer strategies that align with Sales vision and direction.
- Conduct regular and consistent broker reviews identifying areas of focus and providing direction and guidance focused on PIM growth.
- Conduct regular and consistent retailer and wholesaler reviews assessing their business and providing solutions to advance customers' business as well as that of PIM.
- Develop and manage trade spend budgets, manage all promotional plans and accrual trade funds by broker and customer including account forecasts and promotional plans.
- Maintain a fanatical focus towards convenience retailers’ resets and revisions, and through advanced planning with broker partners and retailers, drive to increase PIM’s market share through all assigned accounts.
- Develop and deliver customer presentations for C-Store retailers and wholesalers for business reviews, planning sessions, new items, programs, and promotional planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
- 2-5 years’ experience in consumer-packaged goods Sales, Account Management preferably focused on the Convenience trade class segment.
- Previous success in building and growing relationships and sales with Convenience accounts preferred.
- Working knowledge of customer/consumer practices with Consumer-Packaged Goods companies.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Collaboration, Sales Planning, Logistics, Demand Planning, and Sales Finance.
- Strong creative abilities and business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to function with a high level of proficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with ability to develop and deliver effective fact-based presentations in a persuasive format.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; strong interpersonal and organization skills.
- Strong emotional intelligence skills and project management skills; ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrate initiative, motivation, possess strong written/oral communication, problem-solving, teamwork skills, and a passion for customer development.

Worksite
This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in the Western United States, with preference given to those based in: WA, OR, CA, MT, ID, NV, AZ, WY, UT, CO, NM, ND, SD, KS, OK, TX, AR. Ability to travel approximately up to 50% to attend customer meetings, industry events, company meetings, and tradeshows. The role reports to the Director, Western Sales – Convenience at PIM’s Headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey. Summer Fridays are observed between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $95,000.00 - $120,000.00. PIM Brands takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
