About the role
The Key Account Manager - Cardiovascular role is responsible for assessing and diagnosing the current business environment in assigned accounts, developing and executing strategies to support portfolio performance, and maintaining comprehensive account profiles.
Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose the current business environment in each assigned account in relation to Amgen Cardiovascular products
- Develop and execute innovative strategies to reach difficult-to-access healthcare providers and accounts
- Work internally through the matrix team and externally with customers to develop strong relationships
- Meet with opinion leaders in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, P&T Committee, etc., to build partnerships and influence decisions
- Present approved data and CV product messaging compliantly within all governing policies
- Ensure formulary adoption in targeted hospital accounts to drive appropriate utilization of approved CV products
- Monitor Amgen business performance across Cardiovascular portfolio and identify drivers/barriers
- Coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams and organize approved promotional programs, displays, and hospital initiatives
- Provide field intelligence and recommendations to Amgen home office, including CV brand teams
- Support value of innovation and shape the environment
- Execute value/FDAMA 114 tools where appropriate
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Doctorate degree & 2 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience OR a Masters degree & 4 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience OR a Bachelors degree & 6 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience
- Advanced degree (e.g. MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) preferred
- 3+ years of account management and/or public payor experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the current environment and trends in community cardiology practices
- Understanding of the internal and external dynamics in dyslipidemia and heart failure
- Experience in public payor / agency activities, including understanding of the Local Coverage Determination Processes (LCD)
- Knowledge of hospital committee structure, P&T process, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and hospital reimbursement process for all assigned accounts
- Experience in managing reimbursement and managed care
