About the role
The Kettle Operator oversees the complete function of the kettle room during each production run, ensuring compliance with the company’s personnel safety, food safety, food defense, and food quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Set up and monitor all machines and equipment, adjusting and verifying controls according to requirements.
- Ensure staff break times adhere to company policy.
- Verify all supplies needed are available before and during each production run.
- Complete and accurately record all production documents and records.
- Check and adjust ingredient amounts throughout each production run to ensure product consistency.
- Request product based on work order specifications.
- Meet or exceed established production run rates and quality process indicators.
- Maintain and record reports on work orders processed and quantities produced.
- Communicate with shift supervisors regarding production results and unforeseen situations.
- Follow up and resolve issues that occur during production runs.
- Coordinate with maintenance technicians to address maintenance issues.
- Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions within 15 minutes of downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills, with strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-learner with multitasking capabilities.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs independently and 50 lbs with assistance.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment properly.
- Capable of standing, walking, stooping, twisting, and bending for up to 10 hours.
- Able to operate a pallet jack and safely move up to 2000 lbs of product.

- Technical Skills: Pallet jack operation, equipment monitoring, and control adjustment.
