Kennel Technician - Opelika, AL

Position Details

Status: Full-time. Schedule: 40-hour work week with rotating schedule between hours of 7:15 am – 6:15 pm weekly and rotation hours on alternating weekends.

Opelika Animal Hospital is looking for a kennel technician to join our team! Our team consists of highly skilled veterinarians and staff. Responsibilities

• Transporting pets to and from kennels
• Ensuring that the animals always have ample fresh food and water
• Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair and other debris from kennels
• Accompany animals on walks, if required
• Calming animals that are in distress
• Bathing dogs and cats
• Reporting significant changes in functioning to the Veterinarian or medical professional on duty
• Evacuating all animals in case of an emergency
• Assisting Veterinarians – experience required

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous experience caring for animals
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and agile
• Capacity to lift to 50 pounds unaided
• A passion for animal welfare
• Available to work evenings, on weekends, and public holidays
• Previous experience as a kennel tech preferred
