Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, attentive care for pets during their stay, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and loved.
  • Watch for changes in behavior or physical condition that might indicate health concerns, promptly reporting any issues to our veterinary team.
  • Maintain spotlessly clean kennels, cages, and hospital areas, creating a sanitary, odor-free space that promotes animal health and comfort.
  • Develop trust with animals of various temperaments, confidently and safely handling them during daily care, medication administration, and movement around the facility.
  • Accurately document feeding schedules, behaviors, and care provided, ensuring our team has complete information about each animal's stay.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience in a veterinary setting or boarding facility.
  • Willingness to learn proper animal handling and care techniques.

Qualifications

  • Genuine passion for animal welfare and pet care.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, even when they're anxious.
  • Physical stamina for walking dogs, cleaning kennels, and lifting supplies.
  • Excellent attention to detail in following care instructions and observing animal behavior.
  • Strong cleaning skills with a commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions.
  • Reliable and responsible work ethic.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with team members and occasionally with pet owners.
  • Patience and compassion when working with animals that may be stressed or ill.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
