About the role
Responsible for teaching kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding skills to participants of all ages and abilities. Conduct safety briefings, lead classes, and maintain equipment.
Responsibilities
- Teach beginner and advanced techniques in kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding.
- Ensure all participants are properly equipped and briefed on safety procedures before each session.
- Lead small group classes and one-on-one sessions as needed.
- Maintain and store equipment in a safe and organized manner.
- Communicate effectively with participants and fellow instructors.
Requirements
- Valid lifeguard certification or equivalent water safety training.
- Experience leading outdoor activities or working with youth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass a background check.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (optional).
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Strong physical fitness and stamina.
Skills
