Karen Interpreter

About the role

We are seeking hard-working, fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to use their cultural knowledge to help non-English speakers in their community. We have an immediate need for Karen interpreters in the Lincoln area.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for medical and other appointments
• Use online portal to print and upload vouchers
• Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Must have transportation to attend local appointments
• Access to a printer
• Technical skills for learning and using an online portal
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Pass background checks and drug screens
• Proof of vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions considered with appropriate documentation)

Schedule

• PRN (as needed), part-time or less depending on languages spoken
• Flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences
• Must have some availability Monday–Friday, 7 AM–5 PM
• Hours are not guaranteed and depend on availability, languages spoken, and client needs
