Kaba Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is a company dedicated to breaking down language and cultural barriers. We employ interpreters to help limited-English speakers, the Deaf, and the Hard-of-Hearing communicate effectively. This role allows you to work remotely from your home.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Kaba and English speakers.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Adapt to various industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, and more.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology specific to each industry.
• Ensure confidentiality and respect cultural sensitivities.
• Work flexible hours to accommodate interpreting needs.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Kaba and English with cultural understanding.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to handle emotionally charged and stressful situations.
• Education or experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages preferred.

Technical Requirements

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes.
• Desktop/Laptop computers with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS operating systems.
• Tablets (iPadOS or Android) and smartphones (iOS or Android).
• Restricted brands: Kaspersky products, Huawei hardware.
• High-speed internet connection with download speeds of no less than 5 Mbps, upload speeds of 3 Mbps, and ping values under 300 ms.
• Quiet workspace free from background noise or distractions.

Physical Requirements

• Able to operate a keyboard and mouse for extended periods.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write.
• Able to lift up to 26 lbs.
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
