U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This role is full-time on the 2nd shift with travel requirements of 10%-25% of the time.
About the Role
Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel based on their skill, experience, and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity, and assists in the development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down into practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings and procedures. Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance across all shifts.
Newport News Shipbuilding is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to new Foreman hires, including current employees.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, OR
- Apprentice Certification, OR
- High School diploma and 4 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience, OR
- Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical field and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience.
Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $92,000.00 to $117,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
