K3 Technician

About the role

This position provides technical capability within the Decoration Department, with regards process optimization, product specifications and technical decision making. The decorations department is responsible for the production of the end product, from plain to decorated product with cardboard wrapping.

Responsibilities

• Learn specific Decoration process, equipment (specifically Hoerauf machinery), machine speeds, changeover times, product specifications and customer quality requirements.
• Load and changeover machinery, and keep machines running smoothly; communicate any problems that arise to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Support the team in process optimization, ensuring adherence to food safety, hygiene, and GMP requirements.
• Complete product changeovers as per production schedule and in accordance with established procedures and timeframes.
• Provide support to ensure machine efficiency targets are achieved (troubleshooting).
• Prepare and check changeover trolleys, minimize waste & scrap, and record relevant data.
• Resolve non-conforming sources efficiently and effectively, using the continuous improvement approach to problem solving.
• Carry out maintenance tasks, provide assistance and/or technical support to maintenance engineers, and support department in system and equipment troubleshooting and technology transfer.
• Motivated to achieve department and company performance targets, championing Continuous Improvement Activity in the Decorations department.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a Maintenance or high-level machine operator role. Experience with Hoerauf Machines strongly preferred but not required.
• Education: Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred); Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred).
