K-INBRE Undergraduate Student Research Assistant
Position Overview
The KINBRE program will provide an opportunity for undergraduate level trainees to get exposure to cutting edge research. Each trainee will be appointed a mentor, conduct research in the fields of Molecular Biosciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and related fields. The students will collect and analyze data and maintain appropriate records of their research. Trainees will also present their research findings at local, regional and/or national symposia.
The award recipients will be required to promote objectivity in research by establishing standards that provide a reasonable expectation that the design, conduct and reporting required for NIH funded research. The KINBRE training program will support undergraduate researchers with opportunities to conduct fundamental, translational or entrepreneurial research. The overall goal of the program is to provide a career pathway for students interested in a career in biomedical research.
Job Description
- Congduct mentored research, including experimental design, data collection and analysis, maintenance of research records, and preparation of research presentations and reports.
- Attend required meetings, seminars, workshops, and other program-sponsored activities to enhance research skills, scientific knowledge, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Students must have an interest in biomedically-relevant laboratory research, as indicated in application materials.
Position Requirements
- Employment Conditions: (2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
