About the role
The Paraprofessional at Brooke Charter Schools provides small group or 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with special needs under the supervision of a special education teacher. They collaborate with colleagues, including classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators, to meet the needs of their students. Additionally, they work with staff to develop and implement behavioral intervention plans, ensuring that student learning and classroom behavior goals are met, and assist the lead teacher in observing, recording, and charting behavior.
Responsibilities
- Provide small group or 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with special needs
- Collaborate with colleagues, including classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators
- Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans
- Affirm and build on students' identities as sources of strength
- Work with staff to observe, record, and chart behavior
Requirements
- Earned at least a high school degree or equivalent
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Knowledge of building a joyful classroom culture with high behavioral and academic expectations
- Professional, warm, and collaborative demeanor
- Willingness to foster diversity and remove bias

Pay
Hrs: 7:15 am - 4:20 pm
Compensation ranges from $23/hr-$30/hr
