What We Offer

What You Bring

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • Experience in a Special Education classroom setting
  • A valid Texas state certification in Special Education
  • Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum
  • Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to various situations
  • Strong family engagement and communication skills
  • Effective facilitation and use of technology
  • Clear and consistent behavior management system
  • Ability to facilitate Admission, Review and Dismissal meetings

What You’ll Do

As an IDEA Special Education teacher, you will:

  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess students' skills and progress, and adjust teaching plans accordingly
  • Teach small groups of students who are academically at risk in reading and/or math
  • Collect and analyze student data to make informed decisions
  • Communicate students' progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
  • Help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation
  • Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments
  • Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs
  • Participate in regular meetings and functions
  • Engage in ongoing learning and development
