About the role

The Special Education team is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic individual to work collaboratively with our special and general education team members to provide specialized academic instruction to students with learning disabilities and/or multiple needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized academic instruction to students with learning disabilities and/or multiple needs.
• Collaborate with the special and general education team members to ensure effective instruction and support for students.
• Work successfully with students who have emotional or behavioral needs.
• Evidence of differentiated instruction that meets the unique needs of each student.

Requirements

• A Maine Department of Education K-8 Special Education Teacher (#282 or #282B) certificate is preferable.
• Related certifications or ability to obtain certification may be considered for the right applicant.
• CHRC is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working successfully with students with emotional or behavioral needs.
• Evidence of differentiated instruction that meets the unique needs of each student.

SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.

Knowledge of special education best practices and strategies.

Pay

Pay is based upon experience and level of education. We have a competitive salary scale.
