Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide job-embedded, standards-aligned professional development to teachers
- Model high-impact literacy instruction and co-teach lessons with classroom teachers
- Facilitate weekly common planning sessions with a focus on curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes
- Support the use of student achievement data to inform planning and instruction at classroom and school levels
- Promote and provide resources that support rigorous, culturally relevant instruction
- Contribute to vertical alignment efforts and cross-grade collaboration in literacy
- Host open classrooms and facilitate peer-to-peer learning and discourse
- Help implement new learning systems, data platforms, and digital tools
- Provide in-field support to teachers including coaching cycles and follow-up observations
- Support students directly through small group instruction and academic interventions
- Provide teacher coverage or additional instructional support as needed
- Collaborate with administration to monitor progress on literacy goals and initiatives
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Deep understanding of literacy instruction and the science of reading
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
- Expertise in analyzing and using data to drive instructional decisions
- Proven ability to lead professional development and coaching cycles
- Effective facilitation of team meetings and collaborative planning sessions
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Commitment to educational equity and supporting diverse learners
- Ability to model lessons, co-teach, and provide actionable feedback
- Capacity to support implementation of digital tools and learning platforms
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license Reading Specialist license preferred
- SEI Endorsement or dual certification in ESL
- Master's Degree in Education or a related field
- Minimum of five years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience
- Prior experience as an instructional coach, mentor teacher, or school leader preferred
