K-12 Tutor

About the role

Huntington Learning Center in Orland Park is seeking certified teachers to teach on a part-time basis with students in grades K-12.

Responsibilities

• Teach on an individualized basis to help students achieve progress in a short period of time.
• Instruct students in a range of grade levels and subject areas.
• No outside lesson planning, materials, or grading is required.
• Work in a safe, friendly environment that fosters learning.
• Flexible evening and weekend hours are available.
• Continual training and professional development are provided.

Requirements

• Must be certified to teach in the state of Illinois.
• Experience teaching elementary and middle school students is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Pass a background check.
• Pass a drug screening.
• Pass a criminal history check.
• Pass a fingerprint check.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of core foundational skills such as phonics, reading, study skills, writing, and math.
