JV Girls Basketball Coach 2026-2027

Reports To: Building Administrator or Athletic Director

This position is responsible for student‑athletes or students participating in activity programs at the secondary level. The coach will teach technical skills, ensure safety, and foster a culture of discipline, good sportsmanship, and a safe learning environment for social interaction. The role includes managing all aspects of the assigned sport or activity program in alignment with the school’s mission and Athletic Department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee or lead all aspects of the sport or activity sponsor program.
• Plan and conduct effective practices, competitions, or meetings.
• Supervise and support colleagues or coaches.
• Collaborate with other colleagues and coaches and demonstrate appropriate behavior amongst students.
• Ensure compliance with VHSL, district, and school policies.
• Manage scheduling and program organization appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma required.
• Experience: Previous experience in the sport or activity sponsorship program is preferred.
• Licensures and Certifications: Completion of all VHSL and district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid/AED, concussion training, and background check).
• Additional Skills: Strong skills in leadership, organization, and communication.
