About the role

The Ministry Site Director is responsible for spiritual and organizational leadership, working with and through other people, and strong communication skills. They must embody YFC's Cultural Attributes and implement relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and maintain volunteer ministry leader team in accordance with the processes found in the Knowledge Base

  • Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site

  • Provide training materials and ministry site standards for ministry leaders

  • Develop healthy 3 Story teams for each ministry site

  • Establish necessary support and guidelines to ensure healthy and growing ministry at all sites

  • Be an advocate in the community for young people

  • Report progress and ministry updates to YFC

  • Manage, facilitate, and serve in the Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)

  • Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs found in the Knowledge Base

  • Establish and develop programming materials

  • Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives

  • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events

  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people, promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression

  • Recruit, lead, and develop diverse teams of volunteers

  • Manage a team of diverse volunteers

  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Connect well with youth, well-spoken in front of youth and adults, and able to prioritize others' needs for a missional outcome

  • Able to build collaborative relationships with churches, schools, community organizations, and ministry partners

  • Regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA

  • Extend invitations to fund raising events, recruit personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, send letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally minister to donor contacts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

  • Previous ministry experience, including volunteer leadership, preferred

  • Experience working with youth, young adults, young fathers, or young families is preferred

  • Self-Motivator

  • Strong moral character and of good repute

  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Good relationship building skills with adults and young people

  • Perseverance through opposition and obstacles

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with churches, schools, community organizations, and ministry partners

  • Basic fundraising and donor relationship skills

  • Demonstrates perseverance, flexibility, and resilience in ministry

Benefits

Commensurate with experience.

Pay

$20 - $24/hour

Schedule

15-25 hours per week
