Job Description

As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer – Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and support a welcoming, secure environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized youth services personnel by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying identification, confirming authorization, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security‑related concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and access‑control records in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy).
• At least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation and drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.

Pay

$17.00 per hour

Schedule

Full‑time, Daytime

• Tuesday: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM
• Wednesday: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM
• Thursday: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM
