Junior Youth Mentor

About the role

Texas Sports Academy is hiring a Junior Youth Mentor to support serious student-athletes. The role focuses on helping students build confidence, focus, and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Confidence & Resilience Coaching: Assist students in developing practical skills for handling performance pressure, peer dynamics, and the challenges of being a young athlete.
• Partner With Coaches and Guides: Share relevant observations with coaches and guides to ensure the whole team supports students effectively, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about their student's engagement, progress, and goals, and discuss strategies for reinforcing school experiences at home.
• Tech Platform Support: Help students navigate the TSA learning platform, address technical issues, and make the platform feel accessible and user-friendly.
• Small-Group Workshops: Lead group sessions on practical topics such as bouncing back from a loss, managing pre-competition nerves, time management, and healthy competition.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: Required. Psychology, education, kinesiology, social work, sports science, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience is ideal. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Qualities: Good with kids, strong listening skills, comfortable in an athletic environment, clear written and verbal communication.
• Location: Remote (U.S. ONLY).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish): A bonus for connecting with a diverse student body.
