Junior Tax Accountant (Entry-Level)

As a Junior Tax Accountant, you will work alongside experienced professionals to support tax preparation, financial reporting, and client service. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in tax and accounting while developing practical skills in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Gather and organize client documentation for tax preparation and financial reporting.
- Support tax planning efforts and identify potential tax-saving opportunities under supervision.
- Communicate with clients to request information and help address basic questions.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Maintain accurate and organized client records.
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines during busy tax seasons.
- Learn and apply current tax laws and regulations with guidance from senior staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or expected graduation within the next 6 months).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with QuickBooks is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (required or in progress).
- Interest in pursuing CPA license is encouraged.

Schedule
Work hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm (unless otherwise approved by leadership), including lunch. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
Location
This position is onsite at 1803 Research Blvd, Suite 103, Rockville, MD 20850.
Physical Requirements
- Office environment.
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members verbally and in writing.
- May be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, up to 20 pounds.
