Junior Systems Engineer (IL0)

Junior Systems Engineer position in Fort Meade, MD. Security clearance required: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

What You Will Do

• Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
• Interact with the customer regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
• Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility.
• Communicate with other program personnel, overseers, and senior executives.

Requirements

• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architecture(s).
• Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
• Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
• Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) additional years of system engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Pay

Salary range: $75,000–$95,000, depending on experience.
