About the role
Two Six Technologies is looking to add a Junior Software Tester to our team building a next-generation global-scale networking situational awareness and command and control platform. In this role, you will help develop and maintain manual functional and user-acceptance tests to assess software product development. You will work closely with the development and field operations teams to evaluate new and existing features, as well as identify and examine defects. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in our Arlington, VA or Herndon, VA office.
Responsibilities
- Performs manual software product testing through web-based applications and supporting tools and investigates possible causes of problems.
- Develops and executes functional, end-to-end, regression, and user-acceptance tests in manual test environments.
- Assists with developing and maintaining test cases, test procedures, and test documentation.
- Detects, reproduces, troubleshoots, and documents software defects and feature requests with clear steps to reproduce and expected versus actual results.
- Works closely with developers and other members of the testing team to investigate defects and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Uses browser developer tools, logs, command-line utilities, and other diagnostic tools to investigate application behavior.
- Participates in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Learns and applies basic scripting concepts using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Bash to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience with Atlassian products
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of IT systems, networking, and problem solving
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
Skills
- Experience with testing applications involving maps, geospatial data, or geospatial libraries such as OpenLayers or CesiumJS
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber/Gherkin or similar BDD tools
- Military or commercial networking experience
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, or common network troubleshooting tools
- Familiarity with Selenium
- Familiarity with programming in Java TestNG and Maven

Pay
Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 USD
