About the role

Journal Technologies is looking for a high-energy, results-oriented project professional to work on implementation projects for our growing software and services company. A successful candidate will have a background in software rollouts including requirements gathering, environment setup and install, configuration/development, training, go-live, and support.

The Software Implementation Specialist (SIS) will work as a member of the implementation team, delivering contracted products and services such as reports, business rules, and general software configuration. The SIS will interact with customers as a primary representative for Journal Technologies and coordinate activities in the configuration process. You will become a standing expert on Journal Technologies’ product offerings, our internal implementation processes, and the customer’s business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Configure case management software, including forms, searches, workflows, and business rules using Groovy and Velocity.
  • Gather requirements for data conversions, documents, and reports; support development, testing, and review.
  • Conduct client training and provide onsite go-live assistance.
  • Troubleshoot technical and procedural issues and escalate blockers appropriately.
  • Work with Java, Windows Server environments, relational databases, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Manage assigned work and status updates in Jira.
  • Collaborate within a Scrum team and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of professional experience querying relational databases, preferably T-SQL or PL/SQL.
  • Implementation Specialist experience or comparable software implementation experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of several of the following: Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, JasperReports or Crystal Reports, SSRS, Java, Groovy, and Velocity.
  • Familiarity with current web technologies, operating systems, Windows Server environments, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex software concepts, follow established procedures, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong technical curiosity, critical thinking, attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively through ambiguity, and communicate blockers early.
  • Strong client service, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage assigned work in Jira and collaborate effectively within a Scrum team.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required.
  • Experience working within Agile teams or formal training in Scrum or Agile methodologies is considered a strong asset.

Pay

The pay range for this role is 55,000 - 70,000 USD per year (US). The salary range posted reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary we reasonably expect to offer a successful candidate upon hire. Final compensation will be based on job-related factors, including qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal compensation considerations.
