Junior Software Engineer

About the role

The Junior Full Stack Software Engineer will support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) by performing software activities focused on creating web-based tools aimed at decreasing user friction and improving usability of existing complex Modeling and Simulation systems. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate experience and an eye for clean layouts, typography, and intuitive user workflows via personal portfolio or open-source contributions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new capabilities
• Resolve issues found in existing code
• Integrate capabilities with external services and tools
• Communicate status and technical details with customers
• Collaborate directly with the customer to drive requirements

Requirements

• 0-2 years of Experience with web front end development using React or Angular
• 0-2 years of Experience with server-side languages, such as NodeJS, Python
• 0-2 years of Experience with version control software (ex Git)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relevant STEM field
• 3.0 GPA or higher. (GPA must be on resume to be considered)
• U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take ownership for segments of a project
• Ability to demonstrate experience and an eye for clean layouts, typography, and intuitive user workflows via personal portfolio or open-source contributions
• Desired: Secret Security Clearance or higher is a plus but not required
• Desired: Experience working with simulation frameworks, such as AFSIM, ITASE and/or NGTS
