ACPWB is growing its Corporate Governance capacity in human capital analytics and reporting and needs a Junior Research Associate, Governance who is ready to contribute from day one while still being honest about what they have left to learn. We value that combination. We do not value the performance of expertise that doesn't exist yet. Your Senior Associate will help you identify the former and avoid the latter.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with survey administration including data collection follow-up and respondent tracking
  • Support senior analysts and associates with data collection, cleaning, and validation for human capital analytics and reporting engagements
  • Perform quality-control checks on analytical models produced by senior team members
  • Prepare draft exhibits and tables for review and revision by senior team members
  • Assist in the preparation of client-ready spreadsheets, charts, and supporting exhibits

Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize competing tasks, and meet deadlines without constant supervision
  • Genuine interest in professional services work and client advisory engagements
  • No prior compensation experience required — interest and aptitude are sufficient
  • Strong academic record, particularly in quantitative coursework

Preferred

  • Interest in Milwaukee and the Midwest as a place to build a professional career
  • Familiarity with any benchmarking or survey platform (Radford, Mercer, WTW, or similar)
  • Prior work or volunteer experience in a mission-driven organization
  • Experience supporting a professional team in a coordinator or assistant capacity

About ACPWB

ACPWB's research has been cited in proxy statements, board resolutions, congressional testimony, and one notable shareholder activist's public campaign. We believe that means our work is consequential. We know it means we have to keep earning that reputation every year.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

Interview Process

Our process has three stages: application review, a 45-minute screen with the hiring manager, and a final panel. We tell candidates what to expect before each step and provide an outcome within five business days of any interview. We do not leave candidates wondering.

What Success Looks Like In Year One

  • Build positive working relationships with at least three peers across different parts of the firm
  • Identify one area where you can add unique value to the team — and begin doing so
  • Complete all mandatory compliance and training requirements on or ahead of schedule
  • Shadow at least two client-facing interactions to build understanding of how ACPWB presents its work
