About the role

As a Privacy Lawyer, you guide various organizations in applying the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) and in developing and implementing appropriate privacy policies. You serve as the point of contact for privacy-related issues and are involved in:

  • Conducting audits and baseline measurements
  • Externally supporting the privacy officer of the client
  • Drafting advice on privacy and data protection
  • Acting as Data Protection Officer (DPO), monitoring compliance with the AVG and internal privacy policies

This is a varied role with room for initiative and personal development. You work with different clients, report to the board, and translate requirements to the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Guide organizations in AVG implementation
  • Perform privacy assessments (DPIA)
  • Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for clients across various sectors
  • Provide pragmatic, hands-on support in privacy and cybersecurity

Requirements

  • Legal background, preferably at HBO or university level
  • Several years of experience in civil or administrative law
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation or the intersection of law and ICT (preferred)
  • CIPP/E or CIPM certification is a plus
  • Proactive and capable of working independently and in projects
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in privacy legislation
  • Excellent command of Dutch, both written and verbal
  • Organization-sensitive, meticulous, and flexible
