Responsibilities
- Collaborate on projects related to Safe Schools For All (SS4A), Complete Streets, Vision Zero, transit access, greenways, streetscapes, park design, and community placemaking for municipalities, regional organizations, and state agencies throughout the northeast.
- Support the planning practice with activities including GIS mapping and analysis, Active Transportation/Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plans, route and facility planning, Vision Zero Plans, safety assessments and road safety audits, production of project deliverables, conceptual design, graphics, and renderings, public outreach, and attendance for in-office activities, public outreach events, and field trips as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of (or on course to complete) a graduate degree in planning, landscape architecture, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communications skills, and excellent writing and graphics capabilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or other industry software.
- Collaborative spirit.
- Ability to succeed in a hybrid work environment (combination of remote, in-office, and in-the-field work).
- Second language skills a plus.
Experience
- Familiarity with municipal planning principals.
- Site planning and architectural design principles.
- Principles and practices of urban planning and development.
- Planning terminology, methods, materials, practices, and techniques.
Pay
Compensation: $36-$40 per hour. The pay range for this position in Morristown, NJ is $36-40 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
