Junior Paralegal, Contracts
About the role
You will be joining our North America Contracts team (US and Canada). Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work with a speed and consistency that traditional law firms simply can't match.
Responsibilities
- Rotate across or specialise within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.
- Support lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts.
- Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and assist with execution.
- Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters.
- Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route.
Requirements
- Has bachelor's degree in law or equivalent.
- Prior exposure to NDAs or KYC processes is a plus but not required.

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: $64,855 - $81,099 in Hamilton, NJ (hourly rate of $31.18 - $38.99) $72,485 - $90,640 in Seattle, WA (hourly rate of $34.85 - $43.58) $61,040 - $76,328 in Sandy, UT (hourly rate of $38.92 - $45.78).
Annualized salary based on estimated 40 hour hours per week before overtime.
