Responsibilities
- Build, configure, maintain, and decommission IPsec VPN tunnels between private cloud infrastructure and customer networks.
- Monitor VPN performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability.
- Maintain documentation for VPN configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Cook up and coordinate with internal teams and external customers to implement secure connectivity solutions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support network operations and respond to outages or critical incidents as needed.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of hardware firewalls at remote office locations.
- Support firewall rule creation, updates, and troubleshooting under guidance of senior staff.
- Aid in the deployment and configuration of WiFi networks in remote offices.
- Provide remote management and support for network infrastructure at branch locations.
- Support network testing, documentation, and implementation of new network solutions.
- Aid with packet capture collection, basic analysis, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Escalate urgent or complex issues to the Senior Network Engineer, Production IT Technical Lead, or Director of Production IT as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Entry-level certifications such as Network+ or similar are preferred.
- Exposure to firewall technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar technologies.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, and switching.
- Basic knowledge of wireless networking concepts.
- Familiarity with IPsec VPN tunnels.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and support network incidents as needed.
