Junior Manufacturing Software Engineer

About the role

The Junior Manufacturing Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software and reports specifically used in manufacturing environments. This role focuses on maintaining, upgrading, and redeveloping existing applications that control and interact with customized fixtures or instruments.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain software applications and databases that support manufacturing in a variety of languages VC++, C#, Java, Python, MySQL, Tableau
• Oversee the day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing support of the MES system
• Create documentation for software usage, maintenance, and other requirements
• Work closely with management, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to design and develop intuitive custom applications to reduce downtime, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve productivity
• Create and execute advanced SQL queries to produce process metrics, reports, and live dashboards
• Liaison for manufacturing and Corporate IT for project implementation

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Information Technology, or relevant degree
• Minimum 2 years of programming experience, preferably at least 1 year of programming experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preferred: Experience supporting manufacturing operations
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with VS Code
• Experience with VC++, C#, Python
• Experience with RDBMS such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Experience with SAP and Tableau
• Experience with development process tools such as Git, GitHub, GitLab and Jira
