About the role

WITRON specializes in intralogistics and automation, building gigantic distribution centers for global customers. As a Junior IT Developer in the Material Flow Control (MFC) team, you’ll work with technologies that power these systems. Your code and configurations will manage inputs from sensors and scanners, optimize transport paths for pallets and trays, and act as the bridge between hardware components and the Witron Warehouse Management System (WWMS). You’ll collaborate with professionals worldwide, delivering solutions for industry-leading, high-profile clients. Rooted in Bavaria, Germany, WITRON combines stability, teamwork, and lifelong growth opportunities—making an impact on communities by ensuring timely food supply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team leads or project leads to create technical solutions for the existing WWMS application, including routing configuration for new warehouses, traffic analysis, and coding or improving action point handling.
  • Debug and research reported issues or questions around traffic routing.
  • Develop and expand interfaces to add features and support new hardware components.
  • Develop, test, and deploy change requests, projects, and assignments in a collaborative international team environment or work individually on isolated issues.
  • Support and improve existing and new applications and functionalities.
  • Create technical documents and specifications to ensure maintainability of your software.
  • Collaborate with the analyst team during project ramp-up, development, testing, and post-acceptance phases.
  • Participate in on-site project commissioning and ramp-up for North American projects (USA and Canada).
  • Engage in limited client communication within your field and make independent decisions based on your knowledge level.
  • Expand responsibilities over time based on experience, knowledge, and personal preference to tackle increasingly interesting tasks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C++ and working knowledge of .NET Framework. Ability to discuss key concepts of object-oriented programming and demonstrate productive use of C++ (projects to showcase during the interview are ideal).
  • Basic knowledge of PL/SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English with local and international colleagues and customers, across technical and non-technical contexts.
  • Ability to work as a team player, support the team under pressure, and take responsibility within your area of expertise.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a “Can-Do” attitude.
  • Helpful but not required: Exposure to the logistics industry or terminology.
  • Helpful but not required: Experience with large codebases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience combined with some educational background.
  • Experience should include project design, coding, testing, delivery, and technical documentation of GitHub projects, personal coding examples, class projects, or previous professional assignments.
  • Logistics exposure is helpful but not required.

Schedule

  • Primarily an in-office position when not traveling.
  • Occasional remote work may be available after 6 months, depending on individual work style, performance, and knowledge gained.
  • Must be able to travel locally and internationally (up to 60%). Travel times fluctuate based on project needs but are communicated in advance, with personal planning considered as much as possible.

Pay

Salary range: $72,000–$78,000.

Benefits

  • Three bonus opportunities.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including company-paid Basic Life, Dependent Life, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability Insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Dental, Vision, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Critical Illness Insurance.
  • Team-oriented environment with collaboration, open-door policy, and team-building events.
  • Brand-name work apparel and professional tools provided.
  • Support for career growth and recognition of potential.
