Passion for history, civics, and geography with the ability to connect past and present

Strong emphasis on reading comprehension and writing in a social studies context

Uses student-centered strategies, like debates, document-based questions (DBQs), and project-based learning

Encourages critical thinking and multiple perspectives

Integrates social studies content with literacy and research skills

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Master's preferred)
• Valid Michigan teaching certification or the ability to obtain one
• Previous classroom experience at the middle school level strongly preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to student achievement, equity, and growth
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Pay

Starting pay 50,000.00 (negotiable)

Pay increases based on experience
