About the Role
The position of Junior High Assistant Principal is for the purpose of maintaining overall school site operations; receiving, distributing and communicating information to enforce school, District and State policies; maintaining safety of school environment; coordinating site activities; communicating information to staff; and addressing situations, problems and/or conflicts.
Responsibilities
- Provides instructional leadership and professional development to all staff members.
- Assists principal in developing a positive effective learning climate.
- Assists in maintaining student discipline and handles special cases as necessary.
- Assists with the evaluation of certificated staff members.
- Works on committees pertinent to the operation of the District.
- Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the principal for investigative follow-up actions.
- Works with faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
Qualifications
- Master's degree required with a major in educational administration or appropriate related field.
- At least three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher.
- A valid state certificate to practice as a school administrator.
Pay
See Salary Schedule. In addition to base pay for administrators: 4 days personal leave cash out at per diem (in June if elected), 10 days of vacation cash out at per diem (in January or June if elected), and a $150 cell phone stipend (paid monthly).
