Junior High Assistant Boys Basketball Coach

About the role

Muhlenberg School District has a vacancy for a Junior High Boys Basketball Assistant Coach. The position begins with the Winter 2027 season and may include off-season training during Fall 2026 pending Board approval.

Responsibilities

• Support and work with all student-athletes
• Ensure clear communication with student athletes, parents, school officials and sport officials
• Collaborate with the High School Head Coach to carry out their coaching philosophy throughout the 7–12 program
• Participate in all training required by PIAA

Requirements

• Belief in the importance of extracurricular activities in a child’s K–12 experience and their social, emotional and academic development
• High School Diploma
• Knowledge of the sport and experience in the sport
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Ability to give clear direction
• Ability to supervise and direct others
• Knowledge of PIAA rules and policies governing the sport
• Ability to work within the Blueprint/Action Plan of the Muhlenberg School District

Preferred

• Prior coaching experience in scholastic basketball
• Bilingual candidates

• Current clearances: Act 34, Act 114, Act 151, Act 168
• Three professional references
• Clearances must be within one year of hire
