Junior Ground Systems Analyst

About the Role

Global Dimensions is seeking a Junior Ground Systems Analyst to support a mission-critical program in Quantico, Virginia. This position supports the analysis of foreign military ground systems, weapons technologies, and emerging threats to inform U.S. Marine Corps acquisition programs, force modernization efforts, and operational planning. The Junior Ground Systems Analyst conducts all-source intelligence analysis of foreign military ground systems, weapon technologies, and emerging capabilities. The analyst evaluates current and future threats, develops intelligence products, and supports Marine Corps acquisition and capability development processes by providing timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence assessments. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of military systems, all-source intelligence analysis, structured analytic methodologies, and Intelligence Community tradecraft while supporting collaborative efforts with engineers, scientists, and operational planners.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct all-source intelligence analysis of foreign military ground systems, including: Armored vehicles; Tactical and combat vehicles; Artillery systems; Small arms and crew-served weapons; Anti-armor systems; Precision-guided munitions; Sensors; Motor transport systems; Explosives; Logistics and maintenance capabilities; Readiness and operational employment
• Analyze current and emerging foreign missile technologies, assessing system capabilities, vulnerabilities, technical characteristics, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
• Evaluate foreign precision-guided weapons and indirect fire systems to identify emerging technologies, technology transfers, and operational impacts on U.S. and Coalition forces
• Assess current and future foreign lethal and non-lethal weapon systems, including production capabilities, deployment trends, stockpiles, proliferation, and operational effectiveness
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, modelers, and subject matter experts to evaluate foreign weapons systems, defense technologies, and dual-use capabilities
• Produce detailed intelligence assessments supporting Marine Corps modernization, force development, and acquisition initiatives
• Conduct Threat Steering Groups with Marine Corps Combat Development & Integration (CD&I) stakeholders to identify critical threats, capability gaps, lifecycle risks, and acquisition considerations
• Develop and deliver: Validated Online Lifecycle Threat Reports (VOLTs); Critical Intelligence Parameters (CIPs); Capability Development Threat Summaries (CDTS)
• Support Marine Corps Acquisition Programs throughout the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and Defense Acquisition System processes
• Prepare intelligence reports, briefings, white papers, and analytical products for government customers and senior leadership
• Integrate information from multiple intelligence disciplines to produce comprehensive threat assessments
• Perform additional analytical duties as assigned in support of mission objectives

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Engineering, Military Science, Political Science, National Security, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; or Four (4) additional years of directly related experience (seven years total) in lieu of a bachelor's degree
• Minimum three (3) years of experience conducting intelligence analysis or related analytical work, with at least a portion of that experience obtained within the past two (2) years
• Working knowledge of foreign military ground systems, weapon systems, or defense technologies
• Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) classification guidance, security procedures, and intelligence production standards
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Conduct structured research and synthesize information from multiple intelligence sources
• Apply logical reasoning and sound analytical methodologies to assess complex military capabilities and emerging threats
• Produce timely, concise, and well-supported intelligence reports, studies, assessments, and briefing materials
• Clearly communicate complex technical and operational issues to diverse audiences
• Apply structured analytic techniques, including: Analysis of Competing Hypotheses (ACH); Devil's Advocacy; High-Impact/Low-Impact Analysis; Alternative Futures Analysis; Red Team Analysis
• Evaluate intelligence reporting while understanding collection capabilities, limitations, and collection management processes
• Recognize inconsistencies, deception, information gaps, and emerging trends across multiple intelligence sources
• Work independently with limited supervision while contributing effectively within collaborative analytical teams
• Maintain strict compliance with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards, classification guidance, and security procedures

Desired Skills

Candidates with one or more of the following are highly desired:

• Experience supporting the U.S. Marine Corps, Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), or another Intelligence Community organization
• Experience supporting Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Defense Acquisition System (DAS), or capability development programs
• Familiarity with Marine Corps Combat Development & Integration (CD&I) processes
• Experience developing Validated Online Lifecycle Threat Reports (VOLTs), Critical Intelligence Parameters (CIPs), or Capability Development Threat Summaries (CDTS)
• Knowledge of foreign armored vehicles, missile systems, artillery, precision weapons, unmanned systems, or emerging military technologies
• Experience collaborating with engineers, scientists, or modeling and simulation teams supporting threat assessments
• Military intelligence or operational experience supporting ground combat systems analysis
