Junior Groomer

About the role

Petco is a pet supply store chain dedicated to improving lives by providing everything pets need to live their best lives. Responsibilities

• Learn fundamental grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, drying, cutting nails, and more under the guidance of seasoned groomers.
• Assist in the grooming process, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of pets in our care.
• Provide optimal customer service to pet parents, addressing grooming-related inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area, disinfecting and sanitizing grooming tools and equipment, and performing daily and weekly cleaning duties.
• Schedule grooming appointments, manage paperwork, and maintain accurate grooming records.
• Learn and adhere to Petco's grooming policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure safety, quality, and consistency in all grooming activities.

Requirements

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting, is preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred, though not required.
• A genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming.
• A basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices.
• The ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with pet parents and grooming team members.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required by the Pet Care Center's grooming schedule.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $10.00 - $21.50 per hour, depending on location and qualifications.

Schedule

Work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required by the Pet Care Center's grooming schedule.
