Overview
We are seeking a Junior Financial Business Analyst who will support our NYC client. This non-technical role supports Technology Business Management (TBM) expense transparency across the IT landscape, including Product Management, Infrastructure & Operations, Cybersecurity, and other IT service towers. The consultant will strengthen cost transparency, financial accountability, and the linkage between IT services, cost drivers, and business value through financial modeling, allocation analysis, reporting, and stakeholder partnership.
Duties
- Lead and execute TBM expense transparency activities across IT divisions, applying consistent financial reporting, allocation logic, and cost modeling practices.
- Develop, maintain, and refine TBM financial models and reporting frameworks, including cost allocation models, service tower mappings, and run/innovate categorization.
- Partner with IT Service Owners, Finance, and business stakeholders to validate financial inputs, align cost structures, and improve understanding of IT expense drivers.
- Maintain and support reporting used to communicate IT spend insights, cost drivers, and financial trends to stakeholders.
- Validate, enhance, and update TBM allocation methodologies, mapping logic, allocation rules, and cost modeling assumptions.
- Improve the accuracy, defensibility, and clarity of financial reporting by reviewing data sources and supporting ongoing TBM financial transparency initiatives.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), IT financial management, cost transparency initiatives, or related IT billing and chargeback practices.
- Strong understanding of financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting, cost allocation, and financial reporting and analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modeling, complex formulas, pivot tables, automation, and scenario analysis.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, Finance, and business stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, meaningful insights for non-financial audiences.
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with TBM tools, cost modeling practices, cost transparency reporting, Power BI dashboards, and allocation methodologies.
- Experience with ServiceNow, including ITFM, CMDB, APM, service taxonomy, and request or asset workflows.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or a similar ERP system.
- Analytical, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and facilitation skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with large, complex financial datasets and evolving TBM frameworks.
- Prior experience working with or supporting MTA organizations.

- Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension)
- Start Date: estimated - 9/14
- W2 Hourly Rate: $30-$41/hr
