Junior Electrical Estimator
Job Description
The Junior Electrical Estimator supports the electrical estimating team by coordinating administrative activities for active pursuits, gathering and organizing required deliverables, and helping ensure estimates are completed accurately and on schedule. This role works with internal SOLV Energy teams, vendors, distributors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to collect information needed for photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) estimates.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
- Cook up deliverables from internal and external parties, including engineering teams, vendors, distributors, and subcontractors.
- Keep an eye on the electrical estimating pipeline and get different SOLV Energy teams involved to help get required deliverables in a timely manner.
- Get the electrical estimating team together to make sure they have all the electrical reviews, bid packages, and estimate documentation they need.
- Help with scope takeoffs, input information into the estimating system, and check reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Help quantify incidental costs for bid packages, like subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools, and supplies.
- Help compare electrical estimates with actual cost data.
- Prepare and compare project update estimates and bid package estimate documents.
- Go to site visits as needed to learn more about the systems being estimated.
- Keep good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Do other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years of project field administration experience; completion of, or enrollment in, a Construction Management Certificate program; or equivalent experience.
- Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
- Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
- General knowledge of construction costs and principles.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Estimating experience preferred.
- Drafting and computer skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and adaptable.
- General understanding of construction cost estimates.
- Ability to communicate priorities and support timely responses from internal and external partners.
- Ability to identify practical solutions that support cost and schedule objectives.

Pay Range
$82,720.00 - $103,400.00
