About the role
Avanade is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support the implementation of modern DevOps solutions across cloud and platform ecosystems, with a strong emphasis on GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD modernization. This role focuses on hands-on delivery, automation, and standardization, including supporting large-scale platform migrations (e.g., GitHub Enterprise adoption) and driving efficient, repeatable engineering practices. You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and client teams to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready DevOps solutions.

Responsibilities
- Support implementation of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Contribute to migration efforts (e.g., Azure DevOps to GitHub, CI/CD modernization)
- Assist in building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent)
- Troubleshoot build, release, and environment issues across development lifecycles
- Apply secure engineering practices including code scanning, testing, and policy enforcement
- Leverage automation and AI-assisted tooling (e.g., Copilot) to improve delivery speed and consistency
- Contribute to reusable templates, modules, and standardized DevOps patterns
- Reduce manual effort through scripting and pipeline optimization
- Work with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support end-to-end delivery
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement and technical tasks
- Support knowledge sharing through documentation and team collaboration
- Monitor pipeline health and deployment reliability
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce cost, and simplify processes
- Support implementation of logging, monitoring, and basic operational practices
