About the role
IRADA is seeking a motivated Junior Design Engineer to support the development of innovative IoT and Embedded Systems products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience in hardware design, PCB development, prototyping, and testing while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in schematic design and PCB layout for embedded and IoT-based products.
- Support hardware prototyping, bring-up, testing, and debugging activities.
- Work with development boards and wireless modules such as ESP32, STM32, and Arduino platforms.
- Review datasheets, reference designs, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with senior hardware and firmware engineers on product development activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, design records, and test reports.
- Support validation, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant hardware design experience. Final-year projects, internships, research work, or hands-on academic experience in hardware design will also be considered.
Skills
Core Required Skills
- Basic to working knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout using Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar tools.
- Understanding of power supplies, digital/analog circuits, and microcontroller interfacing.
- Familiarity with IoT development platforms such as ESP32, STM32, and Arduino.
- Basic knowledge of hardware testing and debugging using lab equipment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to soldering, PCB assembly, rework, and hardware prototyping.
- Basic understanding of EMI/EMC concepts and PCB grounding practices.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Experience with wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, BLE, and Zigbee.
- Awareness of CE, FCC, RoHS, and related compliance standards.
