About the role
The Data Integration Specialist supports data integration, data management, and reporting activities that enhance organizational operations, particularly in a student-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Aid in integrating data from various sources to support organizational reporting and business operations.
- Maintain and update data records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
- Perform routine data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and other data products for management and program personnel.
- Import, export, and organize data files according to established procedures.
- Maintain documentation related to data processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with project staff and system users to resolve routine data issues and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Aid in testing new system features, data updates, and process improvements before implementation.
- Monitor scheduled data transfers and report any issues requiring corrective action.
- Support data collection activities by ensuring information is entered accurately and maintained in accordance with organizational standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve data management processes and operational efficiency.
- Maintain data confidentiality and comply with organizational policies regarding information security and records management.
- Provide courteous and professional customer support to internal users regarding data-related questions and system issues.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and project activities as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and provide status updates to supervisors and project managers.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience supporting data management, administrative systems, or information technology functions.
- Basic understanding of data management principles and data quality practices.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and standard business software applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and manage information accurately.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
- Experience supporting government or Department of Defense organizations is desirable but not required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) security clearance.
