Junior Cyber/Watch Floor Analyst

Noetic is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our growing security team in Huntsville, AL. In this junior-level role, you will play a key part in protecting our organization's digital assets by assisting in the detection, analysis, and response to cybersecurity threats and incidents. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of security principles and a strong interest in security operations, with hands-on experience or coursework involving Splunk.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Splunk/SOC experience
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field
• Active Top Secret Clearance (required)
• Ability and willingness to do shift work

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer networks for security issues
• Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
• Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
• Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities, such as penetration testing
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
• Recommend best practices for IT security
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
• Conduct analysis, confirm intrusion information, and create forensically sound duplicates of files
• Decrypt data and provide technical summaries and input
• Examine recovered data for relevant information and perform dynamic analysis, including timeline, statistical, and file signature analysis
• Perform real-time cyber defense handling tasks to support deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs)

• Microsoft Sentinel experience
• GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON)
• GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
• GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA)
• GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
• GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA)
