Junior Commercial Underwriting Counsel
About the role
Old Republic National Title Insurance Company seeks a Junior National Commercial Underwriter in its national commercial office in Chicago. This role involves underwriting title insurance policy coverages for commercial real estate transactions, assisting national commercial escrow officers in closing transactions, negotiating policy coverage and endorsement coverage, and serving as a resource for salespeople and their clients.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite title insurance policy coverages for commercial real estate transactions.
- Aid national commercial escrow officers in closing transactions and negotiate policy coverage and endorsement coverage.
- Provide support to salespeople and clients regarding title insurance and real estate matters.
- Work on multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Show excellent customer service skills and collaborate effectively with a team.
Requirements
- JD required
- Entry-level experience underwriting and closing single and multi-site commercial transactions for properties nationwide
- Ability to understand endorsement and policy coverages and negotiate these coverages with principals and their attorneys
- Working knowledge of State-by-State title insurance guidelines and real estate practices, including endorsement availability, policy availability, transfer tax, mortgage tax, and forms of conveyance

Pay
The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort. Position's Pay Range $90,000 - $110,000/annually
