Junior Cathodic Protection Tech
Responsibilities
- diagnose and troubleshoot cathodic protection and AC mitigation system deficiencies
- conduct various types of field surveys and assessments
- complete installations
- maintain detailed field notes and provide field level assessment to inspection results and recommendations
- sketch various CP system components and electrical schematics
- provide technical assistance to other divisions within the company
- conduct and/or supervise various field tests (e.g., structure potential, CIPS, AC, DCVG, ACVG, ACCA, line locating, soil resistivity, current requirements, etc.)
- organize and review data gathered, prepare charts and tables
- field test equipment, software and testing procedures; log results and communicate to development team(s); provide issue resolution recommendations to development team(s)
- contribute to internal initiatives as required
- provide training and mentorship to junior staff
- contribute to the continual improvement quality process
- conform to corporate, client, and government operating and safety procedures
- develop trusted business relationships with existing and prospective clients
Requirements
- 2+ years in pipeline integrity or oil and gas industry
- 1+ years in cathodic protection or AC mitigation
- NACE CP2 certification
- rectifier training or experience
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
