Goodspeed Merrill is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial law firm dedicated to helping business owners, entrepreneurs, and investors build, protect, and scale successful companies. We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our thriving Real Estate Law practice.

About the role

  • Manage review and negotiations of commercial leasing for office, warehouse, and retail properties.
  • Oversee commercial acquisitions and dispositions, including the detailed review and negotiation of title and surveys.
  • Draft covenants and legal documentation related to commercial development, land use, and complex real estate transactions.
  • Utilize experience with land use, multi/planned use development, and entitlement work to support ongoing firm projects.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Plan and accomplish goals with creativity and latitude while performing a variety of tasks under the general supervision of a partner or senior attorney.
  • Apply excellent drafting and analytical skills to formulate, evaluate, and execute legal strategies and solutions for clients.
  • Operate as a determined, professional, and proactive attorney, ensuring all matters are handled with a well-informed and attentive approach.
  • Execute projects in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant real estate experience
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado
  • Desire for a long-term rewarding career

A portable book of business is a bonus, but not required.

Pay

  • Total compensation: Base salary plus potential incentive compensation: $136,000 – $265,400 (commensurate with experience)
  • Quarterly Bonus Potential - from 3% to 16% of total realized revenue with no billable hour requirements. Bonuses are tied to clear objective metrics, offering substantial earning potential for high performers.
